Calm sea, shallow water and short distances — Dominicus is one of the easiest places in the Dominican Republic for a holiday with children.

Sea and beaches

Playa Dominicus is sheltered by a coral reef, so the waves are small and the water deepens gradually. The beach holds a Blue Flag for cleanliness and safety.

Pools

The Estrella Izha complex has the most beautiful pools in Dominicus, with a gradual entry that suits children and guests with reduced mobility. At Tracadero 02 the pool is right in front of the terrace, and guests also get access to Tracadero Beach Club.

Trips children love

• The natural pool with starfish on the way to Saona Island — waist-deep water where children can stand.
• Cueva de las Maravillas — a lit, step-free cave with Taíno rock art, about an hour by car.

Practical tips

• The sun is strong even in winter — high-factor sunscreen and a swim shirt.
• Drink bottled water only; each apartment has a drinking-water dispenser.
• Insect repellent for the evenings.
